Washoe County is accepting applications for persons living in Washoe County who are interested in serving on the Washoe County Regional Animal Services Advisory Board

911 Emergency Response Advisory Committee Seeking Volunteer Member

The 911 Emergency Response Advisory Committee oversees Washoe County’s plan for 911 system enhancements, and recommends expenditures of collected surcharge monies.

Membership

The at-large member must reside in Washoe County, be a qualified elector in Washoe County, and possess knowledge concerning telephone systems for reporting emergencies. The at-large member may not be an elected public officer.

Time Commitment

The Committee meets every other month, usually on the third Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Board members serve a 4 year term and receive no compensation for their service.

Authority

In 1995, the Nevada Legislature enacted Senate Bill 473 which authorized a telephone surcharge for the enhancement of existing 911 services.
