Reno, Nevada. April 8, 2013. Washoe County is encouraging all employees, who would like to participate, to bring their child or children to work Tuesday, April 9, 2013. While Take Your Child to Work Day is generally observed the fourth Thursday of April, the County has scheduled the event for Tuesday to coincide with the Washoe County School District’s spring break. County Manager Katy Simon, a Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and a Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District fire truck and firefighters are scheduled to welcome the children to the event at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Research has shown that children who spend time with their parents at their jobs learn valuable work habits and set higher goals for themselves.
