Reno, Nevada.  April 7, 2014.  The Washoe County Board of Commissioners will discuss fire service options regarding the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) and the City of Reno, and hold their second reading of the medical marijuana ordinance at their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, April 8.   

  • Fire Services: The Commissioners’ meeting begins at 10 a.m. on April 8 and the discussion about fire services is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. or shortly thereafter, depending on the length of previous agenda items. See the complete TMFPD agenda for the Tuesday meeting.
  • Medical Marijuana Ordinance: Commissioners will also conduct the second reading of the medical marijuana ordinance and possibly vote on the issue starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday evening. The discussion will be about amending County Codes to provide for limited exemption of certain acts from criminal prosecution, and for the licensing and land use authorization required to operate medical marijuana establishments registered and permitted by the State of Nevada.
