For Immediate Release
Reno, Nevada. June 25, 2014. Washoe County is part of a national campaign to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month in an effort to encourage Northern Nevadans to get active outside and enjoy the several opportunities our parks have to offer.
This July, set new trends in your community – what is OUT is IN! The goal is to make 2014 the year people go outside and get involved in their community through parks and recreation.
Washoe County boasts more than 12,000 acres of beautiful parks and Washoe County’s Community Services Department is urging County residents to spend quality time outdoors with family and friends and explore this wonderful region we all call home.
“I hope everybody puts to use these gorgeous parks,” said Commissioner Kitty Jung who is the liaison for the Open Space and Regional Parks Commission. “I encourage Northern Nevadans to take full advantage of this summer weather and participate in a variety of fun activities outdoors as we celebrate Parks and Rec Month.”
