Reno, Nevada. June 27, 2014. The Western Heritage Interpretive Center at Bartley Ranch Regional Park will come to life in July with images that capture the beauty and splendor of the Silver State. In the spirit of celebrating Nevada’s 150th Anniversary of Statehood, photographers from throughout the region will have their favorite Nevada themed pieces on display during the Home Means Nevada photography exhibit.

This official Nevada Sesquicentennial Exhibit will be open daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from July 1-31. The exhibit is free.

What: Home Means Nevada photography exhibit and the Evenings on the Ranch entertainment series

Where: Western Heritage Interpretive Center, Bartley Ranch Regional Park at 6000 Bartley Ranch Road, Reno

When: Exhibit display from July 1-31, 2014. Free ranch tours are: July 2, July 9, July 16, and July 23 at 6 p.m., music begins at 6:45 p.m.

The “Evenings on the Ranch” series begins Wednesday, July 2, and will continue for the next three Wednesdays. The programs will feature free family entertainment on the Plaza by Northern Nevada Bluegrass Association and Silver State Young Chautauqua beginning at 7 p.m. July 2, Cowboy Poet Tony Argento and Silver State Young Chautauqua at 6:45 p.m. July 9, Country Western music by Charlie Edsall and Wild Horse Drive at 7 p.m. July 16, and Bluegrass group Sierra Silver Strings at 7 p.m. July 23.

Come out earlier to see the famous, Historic Ranch buildings open for display Wednesday evenings starting at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be available. Join the Rangers for a guided hike Thursday, July 10, as part of Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation’s Discover Your Parks summer evening walks at 7 p.m. The events are free to the public but donations are encouraged.
