For Immediate Release
A passenger on Frontier Airlines flight 1143 Cleveland to Dallas/Fort Worth Oct. 13 has traveled to the Reno area. The passenger reported to a local health care facility for screening and was released.
“We currently have no reason to expect that this individual poses any risk to the community,” said Washoe County District Health Officer Kevin Dick. “The individual reported to a health care facility, was screened and released according to CDC directives. The CDC determined that this individual did not pose a significant risk.”
The Washoe County Health District is in regular communication with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to bolster its ebola preparedness, according to Dick. The Health District is sharing numerous health alerts from the CDC, including published checklists, hospital infection control, and screening and response protocol with health care workers throughout the area, Dick concluded.
