Reno, Nev. October 27, 2014. November is National Adoption Month. Nevada Football Head Coach Brian Polian, with his wife Laura, invite Wolf Pack fans to join them in supporting the Washoe County Social Services Have a Heart Foster Care and Adoption Program and the Reno Rodeo Denim Drive.
WHAT: The November 1, 2014 Nevada football game against the San Diego State Aztecs marks the beginning of National Adoption Month and the kick-off to the annual Reno Rodeo Denim Drive hosted by the Reno Rodeo Foundation. Every fan who donates new jeans, socks, underwear or cash at the game receives a white shaker for the game to bring awareness to the Washoe County Social Services Have a Heart Foster Care and Adoption Program.
WHEN: Saturday, November 1, 2014 / 7:30 p.m., Kickoff.
More details will be provided regarding Washoe County Social Services’ game day program.
WHERE: Chris Ault Field at Mackay Stadium, Reno, Nevada.
WHO: Coach Polian and the Nevada Wolf Pack football team and representatives from Washoe County Social Services.
WHY: As adoptive parents, Coach and Laura Polian are active advocates of Washoe County Social Services adoption programs. The Polians and the Nevada Wolf Pack football team are partnering with Washoe County Social Services and the Reno Rodeo Denim Drive to collect new jeans, socks, underwear and monetary donations for children who have survived abuse and neglect and are currently living at the County emergence shelter or in foster care. Today there are more than 800 Washoe County children in foster care, and hundreds visit the County emergency shelter each year, including infants and toddlers. Foster care and adoption are just two of the ways the public can help. A simple donation of clothes, toys or time can make just as big of a difference in these children’s lives.
Media interviews, photo and video opportunities available.
NOTE: Coach Brian Polian will be available for interviews regarding the Nevada Wolf Pack’s teaming with Washoe County Social Services on National Adoption Month and what’s planned for Saturday’s game at his weekly press conference, Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 12 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Room at Legacy Hall.
