Reno, NV. Nov. 19, 2014. This is your chance to build a gingerbread creation and enter it in a contest or come out to view the entries with the whole family. The 7th Annual Holiday Gingerbread Festival will feature holiday musical presentations from local school children, and other “hands-on” activities for children and adults alike from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., as well as free entrance to the Wilbur D May Museum. To encourage all members of the family to participate, prizes will be awarded.
The May Arboretum Society and the Washoe County Community Services Department Parks Division is hosting the Gingerbread Festival Saturday, Dec.13, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Wilbur D. May Museum.
WHAT:Entry forms for the contest are available online at http://www.washoecountyparks.com/ or http://www.mayarboretumsociety.org/ and may also be picked up at the Museum or at the May Arboretum office at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. Entry forms are due by Wednesday, Dec. 10.
WHERE: The Wilbur D. May Museum, Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, 1595 N. Sierra St., Reno
WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 13, 12 p.m.-3 p.m.
COST & DETAILS: Admission to the Museum will be free on Dec. 13. There is a $10 registration fee per entry for the Gingerbread Contest and ribbons and prizes will be awarded in four categories: Adult, Family, Professional, and Open for all other creative gingerbread works. A People’s Choice award will also be voted on by the public and winners will be announced at 2 p.m. Proceeds support the Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
