Reno, NV. Dec. 10, 2014. Chairman David Humke has served Washoe County, District 2, for 12 years. While his dedication to Washoe County is evident, Humke will be most remembered by his passion for protecting youth and persistently working to improve services and protections for the inconspicuous, vulnerable population in the justice system. At the Dec. 9 board meeting, Chairman Humke was commended for his commitment and service to Washoe County.
Commissioner Bonnie Weber took her Oath of Office on Jan. 6, 2003 and has served three terms as Washoe County Commissioner for District 5, where she has lived as a resident for more than 30 years.
During her tenure on the Commission, Weber was instrumental in the opening of the North Valley’s Water Splash Park, the creation of sidewalks in Sun Valley to make the areas safer for all residents, and the opening of the Crystal Peak Park and Verdi Pond and Nature Area.
The Board extended their sincere appreciation to Commissioner Weber for her outstanding leadership. The Board wished her all the best in the next chapter of her life.
Both Chairman Humke and Commissioner Weber will be leaving the County at the end of the month, so as a tribute to their service Washoe County Television commemorated their time spent at the County. Watch the video here.
