The Spanish Springs Library's hours are changing beginning the week of May 4, 2015.  The new hours will allow for more consistency and one additional hour per week.  The affected day is Tuesday (changing from 11am - 7pm to 10am - 7pm). 

Spanish Springs Library is located on the Pyramid Highway in Spanish Springs. An octagonal building with open spaces set off by a 64-foot ceiling over the atrium, comfortable seating and over 40 public access/Internet computers, a Tech Bar, children’s STEM toys and computers, and a full range of programs for all ages, it is truly a destination for the entire family. Features include meeting rooms, a drive-through service point to pick up and drop off materials, and a 24-hour book return.

The Nell J. Redfield Foundation Young People's Library features a unique oversized stack of books at the entrance and a separate Story Time room. Twelve public computers, including five Internet computers, with an adult station so parents and children can work side by side, and 6 children’s games computers, a Story Room with STEM games and toys, and a family restroom complete the area as a family friendly place.

The Teen Zone is a comfortable place with 8 public access computers and an area for group study and projects.

Programs for all ages are offered including Story Times & Toddler Times, guest speakers and artists, newly released movies are shown each month, craft programs, book discussion for all ages, an art gallery, displays, and much more! Seasonal programs include free tax help and early voting.

An ADA computer station with a Braille keyboard and printer, includes JAWS (software that reads to you), Magic (magnification software), and OpenBook (optical scanning software with scanner) is available to the public.

E.L. Cord community meeting rooms provide spaces for groups to meet and groups may arrange to stay after the library is closed.

Self-serve features include express check-out, the ability to pick up holds, Downloadable ebook and audio-book station, a Tech Bar with 6 devices, fax machine, a flatbed scanner, automated computer sign-ups, and printing. Offering wireless internet access, laptop locks, and study rooms, the library is truly a destination for the whole family.

The atmosphere is enhanced by the cozy fireplace, an art gallery, and comfortable seating throughout the building.

As part of the Washoe County Library system, users have access to a wide range of books, music, movies, current newspapers, popular magazines, and books on CD. Downloadable e-books, audio-books, and magazines on Flipster are available, and much, much more. 

With a distinct Native American design, the décor features petroglyphs from local caves and rocks and a unique carpet treatment featuring a traditional Paiute basket weave pattern in the atrium.
